Ive opened more packs of baseball cards in the past six months than I did in the Cheslor Cuthbert Jersey previous two decades, almost exclusively from boxes that skew heavily toward nostalgia over value, and Ive done my best to put those cards in storage boxes as Ive taken them out of the packs. Ive only put the very best ones again, nothing of REAL value into top loaders or hinged plastic boxes, because I want most of the good cards to be in those storage boxes when I look through everything again 10 years from now.I make three exceptions: Every Ken GriffeyJr., Frank Thomas and Bo Jackson gets pulled out and stored separately. Griffey and Thomas were just amazing baseball players with Hall of Fame careers, and personal favorites. Maybe its because after a swing that, judging by where hes looking, probably resulted in a line drive into the stands down the right-field line, and because he looks tall, strong and athletic in a moment where lots of baseball players dont look tall, strong or athletic.9. 1987 FleerWhy its here: Because its a Bo Jackson rookie card. Im a fan of the 1987 Fleer set design, and the blue borders matched especially well with Bo in his Royals blue. But the standard smile for the camera pose for Bo Jackson, like he was any other no-name rookie in spring training? Feels like a waste especially sidebyside with his other 1987 cards even if he is flashing a great smile.8. 1991 Upper DeckWhy its here: This card, , is one of the first baseball cards with Bo in a White Sox uniform (he was still with the Royals when the base set was released). The Royals released him in spring training, fearing the hip injury hed suffered in football was the end of his baseball career. Bo disagreed. The ChiSox signed him a couple of weeks later, and he did make it back on the field late in the year, but complications and surgery resulting from the hip injury cost him all of 1992.7. 1991 Score Bo BreakerWhy its here: I honestly didnt know it was po sible to break a baseball bat over your knee until Bo did it. Id never even considered the po sibility. What a . On the other hand, I didnt love the giant Bo Breaker font choice running down the left side of the card. Why make words roughly the same size as a picture of Bo snapping a baseball bat like it was kindling at a campfire? Ugh. That knocks this card down several notches.6. 1991 Chris Owings Jersey Stadium Club Why its here: The best part about this card isnt nece sarily the picture, which is great, but imagining what probably happened next. Its spring training, and Bo is tracking a fly ball in the Florida sun the Royals played in Davenport, Fla.,before moving to Arizona in 2003 like hes about to catch the ball then unleash a laser and throw out some poor, foolish, overeager rookie wannabe trying to impre s the coaches by tagging upand scoring on a medium-depth fly ball. With many Asian-born talents playing in MLB, interest in the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) is higher than ever.And with Brewers slugger and former NC Dinos first basemanEric Thames having garnered tremendous attention this season with a .935 OPS and 20 home runs as of June 27, observers are on the lookout for the next potential KBO star import.Interestingly, the next position player to garner interest out of the KBO could be Thames' old Dinos teammate in Changwon, outfielder Seong-Beom Na.MORE: Na is considered the top MLB prospectplaying in the KBO. His performance, tools and agemake him an intriguing commodity for MLB scouts. The muscular outfielder has made the KBO All-Star teamin all five seasons played and was awarded a Golden Glove,given to best players in each position for outfielders, twice (2014, 2015).Na had scouts' eyesas early as 2009, when he was a left-handed pitcher for the Yonsei University in Seoul. According to , the Yankees and Dodgers were amongfive teams interested in Na. However, an achilles injury affected Edinson Volquez Jersey his fastball velocity. Before the injury, he sat in the low90s, but teams did not want to meet the he demanded. As a result, he stayed put in Korea and was drafted by the NC Dinos in the 2012 KBO Draft as a second-rounder.
