Initially based far apart, they made the world their carpet and collected from it treasures of antiquity and affection-each marking a moment along a shared trajectory. In a world that often expects certain things for certain people when it comes to clothes-where society wants men, say, to wear some things, and women to wear others-I sometimes question why I do menswear and womenswear shows. But for me, it's not about classifying people, it's about using these categories as ideas-ideas YSL Sale to borrow from. In the fashion world's heated atmosphere of digital innovation, ambitious ventures have sprouted up, looking to capitalise on the demand for virtual threads. One such company is Singapore-based Republiqe, run by James Saint Laurent Shoes Gaubert, which was launched in August of 2020. Knowing how passionate she is about her own brand, and knowing everything that she puts into it, it was a no brainer going into this Saint Laurent Sneakers collaboration, because I already had the experience and was familiar with her work. And she was familiar with my aesthetic too. For me, my interpretation of it is edgy because I pair the clothes with boots, chunky silver accessories, and heavy makeup. It can also go to another extreme where the clothes can come off as bohemian instead, so it really depends on how the wearer chooses to interpret it.
